Women's History Month Symposium
March is Women's History Month, and MedChi is proud of our history of women in medicine. From our first women members in the 1880s, to our current female President, for the past 140 years, women have been a part of our organization. Our three speakers will discuss different aspects of women as they relate to MedChi.
- Dr. Anne Banfield, an OB/GYN will share her perspective on reproductive health in this political climate.
- Nicole Diehlmann will speak on her research on the suffrage movement at MedChi in the early 1900s.
- Meg Fairfax Fielding will discuss the the early years of women in medicine and their membership at MedChi .
The morning will begin with a coffee social and meet-and-greet at 9:30 a.m. Starting at 10:00, each speaker will talk for 30 minutes with a 15-minute Q&A session after each one. The event will be held in our historic Osler Hall, and there will be an opportunity to visit our Museum of Maryland Medicine.
