Please join us on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 6:30 to 7:30 for the first-ever ghost tour of the Medical & Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland (MedChi), one of the five most-haunted buildings in Baltimore. Marcia Crocker Noyes was the librarian at MedChi for 50 years, beginning in 1896. Her job required that she live on the premises so she could be available at any time of the day or night for physicians needing a reference book from our library.
For decades, there have been stories of staff members and others hearing footsteps echo in the hallway and the stairs, finding items which appeared with no explanation, or catching glimpses of a figure out of a corner of an eye…
Although there is no guarantee that we will see Marcia, you will see our 1909 building with its elegant architecture, cast iron stacks with more than 50,000 books, art collection dating to the 1700, rare book collection, and lots more.
Reservations are a must. Tickets, which are $10/person, and funds raised will be used to help preserve our archives. For more information, please email events@medchi.org.
